Unlawful Entry

By Bekah

I had to go out of town on Family emergency to see my dying grandfather. When I came home to my apartment a week later, there was an abandonment notice on my door, my front door unlocked, my place gone through, the only light I left on turned off, all my food in my fridge/freezer RUINED, things taken, went through, moved around, taken out of, missing rent money order receipts. I filed a police report, I had my only set of keys on me that I was given by management, and they are the only other’s w/ keys to my apartment. The Office had avoided returning calls, but when I went to the office w/ a neighbor of mine they were caught in lies and sending up red flags left and right. I have been documenting everything. They have not even offered to change my locks on my doors yet either. Is there anything else I can do or do I now need to see legal counsel.
