Credit

By Noreen

I am renting a house 3 bedroom 2 bath one of the baths they have been working on trying to fix the problem since a few weeks after I moved in witch has been 5 months.  I would like to find out what would be the proper renters credit for being down one bathroom/laundry room off and on for 5 months when my full rent for the house is $1495.00 a month?

The question on the “proper renters credit” will only be answered by the judge in a small claims court. If you don’t want to get to that, you can always discuss the possibility of a rent reduction with your landlord. It would be best if you will give him a heads up first by writing a formal letter detailing your desire for a rent reduction until the problem has been fixed. Do not withhold your rent without going to the Clerk of Court; otherwise, your LL could evict you and that will go against your credit score. If your LL does not cooperate with you, file a complaint against him. The RPA can help you.
