Landlord Not Fixing Problems

By Joanna Bajorek

Hello,

I live in 335 N. Yale Ave. Apt. E in Villa Park IL. And am currently renting from Surak Management. He is currently under an investigation from the Health Department in Villa Park and has multiple violations in our apartment alone not to mention other tenants are in court with him right now because of the conditions. He has not responded to the health department or our pleas to fix current living conditions in over 2 months; including but not limited to mold problems, plumbing violations water damage, bug infestation and our apartment complex’s fire alarm is not synced to the Village of Villa Park Fire Department which we were not told of before we signed our lease. Do we have legal grounds to terminate our lease which ends in October of 2012?

Sincerely,

Joanna Bajorek
