Still waiting for security deposit now for a month since moving Upset with advise PA

You advised me to pay rent even with ceiling leak and now I have not received security deposit since moving in Feb 2010. He sure wanted his rent immediately and not right I should have to wait for mine. I should have reported leak to city building inspector and had the place condemned. I should have let the plumber report landlord for wanting to fix problem by putting up a tarp. Where do I go from here to get security? And I do have pictures!

Sick and tired of being sick.. Jessica TX Renter

My family and I rented a home in september. There was a few things wrong that needed fixing so my landlord was pretty good about getting the things fixed. Now here we are 6 months later and my hall bathroom facuet pours water and she dont want to fix it because she would have to take the wall in the dining room down and she said that was to much to get into.. I feel like I am paying rent and she is not holding up her end of the lease. Also I have been very sick since we moved in here I have asthma and allergies and in the last 6 months I have been to the doctor 30 times with some type of coughing issue. Well my husband decided to investigate and found black mold and white mold all under the house. My doctor told me to leave the house ASAP or I am going to end up in ICU because my airways are closing up. My husband called and told her this and she said she would get back to him, It has been 2 weeks and we have heard nothing. I have to get out of this house and dont have the money up front to rent another place. I think we should get our deposit back and some of our rent since she has not do anything to fix several issues in the home.  I dont know where to start and I dont know how to get my deposit back so we can move? Please any advice would be so helpful. My kids cant even stay home, they are stayin with a in law and I just dont know what to do..

Ceiling Fan Noise driving me crazy, Renter in need off advise. natassa soto NV renter

I moved to a new apartment in a new state two months ago. The apartment is great and the price is perfect, i have been here two months with no sleep! The lady downstairs has a ceiling fan, which vibrates my room, floor and bed, due to this I can not sleep at all. I have asked for them to look and fix the problem, after the third time they get back to me and say to me I just have to live with it, There is a noise like a very loud industrial frigerater! So today I stomped in the morning in my room cause once again I had to sleep on my couch. The lady down stairs placed a complaint, the latter reads:WE ARE RECEIVING COMPLAINTS ABOUT NOISE FROM YOUR APARTMENT DAY&NIGHT. WE DO HAVE A QUITE TIME FROM 9PM-9AM, BUT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION YOU HAVE PEOPLE LIVING AROUND YOU. Then a box checked VIOLATION OF RETAL AGREEMENT! Now I have made many complaints on this ceiling fan and they tell me to live with it. I have a temperpetic bed due to a very bad back ! so sleep is very important to me. How can I make them replace or fix or make her stop during this quite hours her ceiling fan? BTW none of the apartment come with ceiling fans in the bedroom only in living room so she put this fan in.

Landlord Wanting to Show House while we occupy Mattemodog LA Current Renter

I need some help!  My family and I have been living in a rental house for 6 months.  We have signed a two year lease, and are being asked by the builder of the house (owner) to put the house on the market and to show it.  He assures us we do not have to move until our lease expires but we now have the inconvience of strangers walking through our house on a weekly basis.  Can he do this?  This seems unfair and wrong.  Please help thanks.

Can my landlord do this? BECCAOK47 OK Lost Soul

At the end of last summer my air conditioner quite working, it was starting to have cooler weather so i didnt bother reporting to my landlord because i had so many issues w/my air and then my heat I got tired of hasseling it.  I figured I would wait till spring and then put a work order in.  3 weeks we had some 70 degree days. I live in the upstairs apt so it gets 10 degrees hotter than outside.  The next day I went to the office to get a work order in for the a/c thats when the apt mgr informed me its not a/c time and they dont start fixing the a/c units till the temp reach’s 85 degrees i told her when its 85 outside my apt will be 95.  I am a ggod renter allways pay on time and i feel i shouldnt have to live in a sweatbox.  I feel that something should be able to be done about this.  How can they refuse to repair my airconditioner. This is Oklahoma 85 degrees and humid will be unbarable in my apt I know this I went thru it last year.  Is there anything i can do about this?

Landlord repairs that do not happen momofive TX renter

we have been renting for a little over two years, when we first moved in the house the landlord had renovated the home.  At this time he was aware that the roof and the foundation was needed to be repaired.  Within this time we have cracking tile, cracks on the walls, and cracks between the two wall joints.  Also water marks in the garage and the front entry way.  The landlord has been made aware of the situation just about everytime he comes to pick up the rent.  With the same answer, give him time.  The landlord and my husband had a few argumentive words, my husband stating if something was to happen to our property that he would be liable.  Landlord response is that he would not be liable.  My questions are, would he be liable?  And are these situations problems that can be dangerous?  I do not know what else to do, just does not seem fair that we pay him decent rent, and on time.  Never given him any problems, and yet he is the type of landlord we do not see until rent time.   If there are water marks on the ceilings could there be possibly mold damgage?  What are my rights?  Any advice would be greatly appreciative..

Pet deposit? sam1234 CA Renter

OK, so here is the deal. We moved into our apartment last April. We moved in with one dog, (pets are allowed, according to the lease). In August of last year we adopted another dog from a local shelter, and of course the shelter had to speak with the landlord before adopting out the dog to be sure it was okay. The landlord approved the 2nd dog. 7 months later we received a notice to "pay or quit" $250 for the second dog. I understand that you get pet despoits back, and all that, but I am a student with medical bills and don’t have $250 to fork over to the landlord. Its also more a principle thing for me, our landlords are unorganized, and ignore issues that are their responsibility. (ei- we have termites that they have been aware of since Oct maybe and never done anything about, but send us notices asking if we would use venting machines/atms/maid services if provided for a higher rent)

Can they demand another pet deposit when on our lease it says we are allowed pets (with no limit on saying how many), and it says NOTHING about any sort of pet deposit to begin with?
