Bugged Out!!!!

IL Uncategorized

During Thanksgiving I noticed that I had a few bites on my arms.  I chalked it up to other scenarios other than bed bugs.  After I started to get more bites and after actually seeing one on my mattress I knew what the problem was.  I notified the apartment complex immediately and without any questioning they had a pest control company out a few days later.  I was under the assumption that maybe they might have questioned me in order to get out of having to cover the pest control bill but I figured they were just really "nice".  After the treatment I haven’t been really comfortable in my apartment.  Every dark speck is a bed bug in my eyes no matter where I am looking.  I asked if after letting go of most of my stuff if I could move to another apartment but that request was turned down.  Their advice was to basically wait it out since the treatment takes 14 days to settle.  I started to probe a little deeper and asked if there were any other bed bug infestations in the complex and they answered with a very non-specific yes.  I asked if there was an infestation in one of the apartments in my specific building and they answered again with a non-specific yes.  I then asked if they notify the other apartments during a situation like this and they said yes but they were not sure why they didn’t notify me!?!  Really…supposedly they notified 5 other apartments in my building where only 2 of those 5 were actually treated.  Again no apartment numbers were offered and maybe I should have asked which ones however just the thought of them not telling me makes me extremely upset.  I have since taken it up with their corporate office for resolution on breaking my lease to move out so we will see what happens.  This is more of a venting post but any thoughts on the matter are always welcome.
