Security deposit plus interest allowed under law 450.00 Storage expenses to kill roaches and keep them from reinfesting my new apartment 198.26 Living room set cleaning to salvage it from the roach dust and feces 330.04 Totals 978.30 This total does not include the ceiling tiles that were never repaired and caused my utility bills to skyrocket. Nor does it include other items that had to be thrown out because of the infestation and my medical. I was rented an apartment with an undisclosed roach infestation. After alerting the property manager and owners, I was denied a refund so I purchased roach products to try and fix the issue. I complained about the matter several times and pest control was only called out twice, once in Dec 07 and in Nov 2008. This roach infestation as well as other ignored repairs have been documented extensively through receipts, phone records, photographs, letters, and eyewitness testimony. I was also told on several occassions by Jason Smith that he does not return security deposits ever to anyone. This is against the law. I will not simply drop the matter and do not feel that I should incur any more expenses because of their blatant disregard for local housing codes and implied warranty of habitability. This complaint is my attempt to resolve the matter. If this complaint is ignored, I will have no choice but to proceed with legal action.
