| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
Landlord was notified in July of a moisture problem. This was AFTER she had 3000 gallons of water pumped from the crawl space. There was no vapor barrier and I requested that be installed and it never was. Pictures of water level available. She was contacted by Code abatement in late September. She told Mike Woods with Code abatement that I had pumped water into the crawl space with a water hose. I moved in Feb.23rd with the intentions of staying 2yrs per the lease. My kids are enrolled just up the street. This allegation makes no sense or why didn't she evict me then. She sent unlicensed "contractor" Dennis over time and time again to "jerry rig" things. Both bathroom fans had not been working creating a huge hazard in the bathroom floor from all the retained moisture from 4 showers daily one per occupant. I noticed the mold early August in small areas of my sons room. Then as the weeks went by I started noticing mold on my bed and furniture and my kid's toys. I brought this to Dennis's attention as well as TIna her daughter. Tina arrived with 6 "Damp Rid" bags and Dennis arrived with a household fan. I was to deal with it. Then Tina had some "contractor" which I was not given his credentials or contact information to come in early September. Was told to leave the house so "THEY" could clean and that "PLENTY OF BORAX" would be left for me to clean my things. I was not happy with this. I contacted Nancy and left a message for her to contact me ASAP. She never returned my call or attempts to contact her through Tina. I contacted Northrim Bank and stopped payment on the rent check that had not cleared. I had paid it to Tina on September 1st. I notified Tina of my actions and requested that we get this resolved ASAP. My 2yr old daughter in the mean time had come down with allergy symptoms associated to the mold. I had been having headaches. Learning from the doctor that mold can be very hazardous I contacted Nancy and Tina and informed them of my intentions to move. I asked Nancy and Tina for the insurance information. Nancy refused and the next day I received an EVICTION NOTICE.
