| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
My name is Mary Johnson and I was a renter for this property apt. 28 and its a 1 bed room apartment. When my fiancee and I moved in the apartment wasnt in great shaped. The carpet was old and everything was not in good condition but it was our first apartment and we needed rental history so we took pictures of all the stuff that was already there when we moved in we clearly instated that we wanted new carpet because there was cig. burnt holes on it but she mention that was going to be replaced next summer which was in 2009 we moved in in Feb. 2008. Now we moved out finally on Dec. 31st 2010 and we still didnt get the new carpet. One day my fiancee was playing with dog and he threw a tennis ball and hit the window. Its a double sided window with a screen but the whole window fell off and we are on the 3rd floor. We called them and mention what had happen and they refer us to a company name McCathys Window and so we called and we payed for the window which is 375.00 but when we spoke with the guy who was fixing the window he had said the the whole window wasnt on there right and the whole window should have not fallen out like that so he had mention that the land owner should reimburse us for the amount since its their resposibility to repair things in the apartment. Now that we moved I mentioned it to the landowner and she said that we signed an agreement of what had happen and we did not sign anything so I feel like they were taking advantage of us since we didnt really know alot about apartments. Now I want my full deposit back because we did everything to that apartment they did not do any repair to it everytime we ask for something they keep saying that they will but never did. So I am getting frustrated and looking for someone to help us. I have receipts and pictures with dates on it that proof that it look like that when we moved in and moved out and also receipt for the window.
