| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
Resident, Taylor Pharo, has had multiple bite marks and welts on all extremities since the beginning of December. She had to see a physician for an initial bite which caused severe swelling and pain in her left forearm. Since the inital time period, she has acquired various bites and welts on all extremities. After multiple thorough cleanings of the unit, the bites were still occuring. She did a thorough inspection of all bedding and the mattress, and found two live bed bugs. She contacted Orkin for an initial consultation to confirm that the insects were bed bugs, Orkin confirmed that they were, and that certain areas of the house did have an infestation. Orkin provided a quoted price of approximately $800.00 to treat the entire unit. Toby Markham, contacted the Property Shoppe to initially ask for them to provide a consultation and possible treatment for the parasite problem. Toby Markham also voiced concern about the santitation of the neighbor living in the unit next door, with which the tenant shares an entrance, and Mary Sanders from The Property Shoppe declined, stating, "Sorry to hear about your bug problem - have you called the city to address the neighbor? Unfortunately, pest control is the tenant's responsibility - but I can refer you to Pro-Techs - they give us the best prices - 754-7840." No follow up has been provided by the property manager, and the tenants continue to be bitten by the parasites.
