For over a month my girlfriend and I have been dealing with bed bugs. We got bit almost every night and once we finally found out what was happening we took it upon ourselves to try to resolve the issue. After not being able to contain the problem we contacted Ben Obregon (Manager of Schroeder Square Apartments) and he later got an exterminater service to come out. We had to go through a long exhausting checklist of bagging up and moving around just about everything in our apartment. The spraying and insect repellent was done and the exterminater could not find any bed bugs other than the sample I supplied. The apartment was then bed bug free after that for 5 days until they came back biting again. We got a follow-up cleaning weeks later and then the bugs came back yet a couple days after that. The bugs and the feeling of always having bugs crawling on your during sleep had exhausted us and lost many hours of sleep over it. I couldn't even sleep in my bed anymore because of the paranoia. I soon found a different place to move to due to this problem, the apartment was unliveable and we could not longer deal with the problem, the cleanings were not affective. I do not feel as though I should be responsible for paying any more rent due to this problem and the landlord and their management don't seem to care at all, they would understand if they were in my situation.
