COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

The itemized accounting of charges against my deposit was inaccurate. First, the apartment was left in impeccable condition but, as stated above, the deposit was not returned and there was an additional damages charge above the full amount of my deposit. There are a number of concerns but the most concerning is as follows: Riverstone sent me the invoices for some of the charged items. I was charged $1,192.03 for the replacement of carpet. However, the invoice from the carpet company stated that it only cost 996.66 to replace the carpet. When brought to the attention of the management company, they said they had sent me the wrong invoice. Then they sent me a different invoice from the carpet company that was also for significantly less than I was being charged. When I asked about this, they said they would not provide me any more information. It appears they are either very disorganized or are purposely overcharging for repairs made. In either case, the charges against my deposits (pet and security) are grossly inaccurate.
