COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Approximately two weeks ago I discovered what I thought to be bed bugs in my apartment. I immediately contacted my property and requested pest control services. At the end of that week they had general pest control visit and suggest I have an official bed bug inspection. In the mean time I bought bed bug sprays and began researching solutions. I contacted my property manager since the best control company said they could only work at the direction of my property and was told that it was company policy that residents are responsible for the cost of bed bug removal. The addendum I signed says simply that pest control is covered by the apartment and does not say what that includes or is limited to. Arizona state law says that it is a landlords responsibility to maintain a fit and habitable apartment, which mine currently is not. Because I did not sign anything accepting responsibility for the cost of specific pest removal or acknowledging that it would not be provided by the apartment, I am seeking that they pay for the inspection as well as the treatment of the apartment. I was not able to speak with anyone over the phone pertaining to this issues but did talk to the property manager in person and emailed the corporate office.
