COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

The apartment was old and had issues when we moved in. She is accusing us of damages that were already present, and itemizing an outrageous amount to be taken from our deposit that we had no part in. I would have been begrudgingly fine with two hundred dollor deduction, but $500 is too much. We had moved out on the 15th of the month and I had contacted her and told her that we just had a few things left and we had a little cleaning to do, she did not tell me she would charge me rent beyond the 15th. She intimatted that everything would be fine, and she said she was too busy to pick up the keys before the 23rd. Then she turned on me when I gave her the keys telling me she was going to charge me for the extra time. A month before that she had written a recommendation for me, saying we were good tenents and she was not going to withhold any of our security deposit. It is signed in her own hand. In the process of moving out I broke a small pane of glass and there is some wear and tear, but most of the things she has listed on her deductions were already an issue when we moved in and had no idea she would try and blame us for that stuff. Secondly When we moved in we dealt solely with her sister who was originally going to be the property manager.
