| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
Incidet 1: We requested the maitenance man to come to our apartment to fix a faucet in one fo the bathrooms that was broken. They came to the aprtment without calling or giving notice they were coming. My wife was in the shower at the time and the maitenance entered the apartment with a key after a few knocks. Wehen he enetered, my wife was in the shower. She asked him why he enetered without permission as she was not clothed. he stated it will not happen again. The timeframe from the the request to the Maitenance coming to our home was roughly 3 days
Incident 2: My wife and I put in a request to fix our alarm on July 24, 2011 because it was going off throughout the night. The maitenance man sent a alarm repair people, a third party vendor in our apartment without calling us and letting us know or giving us any notice on July 27, 2011, three days later. They didn't call us or otify us of this. They simply knock and if they don't hear anything, they entere the apartment. This is a major security issue as my wife works overnight and sleeps in the moring with my daughter. I tried calling the managemnt company. They gave me the name of the property manager and i tried calling her at the numbers they gave me and didn't get anyone. I knw that anyone especially a third party vendor that enters my home without a notice or permission is a violation of my tenant privacy rights.
When I ask a represenative at the office, I was told that the maitenance man doesn't know when they will come to the apartment so they just show up.
