| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
This started when there was a small leak in the ceiling we call and reported it. The maintance man came took a look at it and said that he needs to have the roof top sucked out and that should take care of it and that they would come back and prime and paint the wall they never came back. About a week or so it happened again this time a little more water than the last time. We called reported the problem they came out and looked for the leak. They said that they found it and it was the air conditioner drip pan was cracked so they installed a new one said that they would come back and prime and paint the walls, only this time the walls were stained a little bit more than last time. Well that worked for a little while then it happened again only this time it was a flood of water. The walls had water running down them the ceiling had drips coming down we tried to catch some of the water but by the time we got to it the damage was done the carpet was soaked the walls had wet dry wall and the ceiling was turning colors. We then called them they sent someone to take a look they tried to figure out what the problem was. They found the problem it was a leak from upstairs so they fixed the problem. Now this time the wall was soaked the carpet was also soaked and they said that they would be back when the area was dry. In the mean time the smell was just awful and it looked like the walls were molding and the carpet was turning sour. I moved my 70 year old mother out due to the molding it's not healthy for her also all the dry wall dust that would be in the air as they go to repair the walls will also not be healthy and it would be a mess. My sister gave us the condo so that we had a place to go. We went to the main office to see if we could get out of lease due to all the damage from the leak. We talked to Allison and she said she would get in touch with the manager Dianne who was out of town. Well we waited for a few days and never heard from them so we went to the office. We talked to Allison and she said that she got a hold of the manager explained to her the situation. The manager told Allison that the only thing they would do would be to get us into another apartment. I asked if we take this other apartment would we have to sign another lease Allison yes that we would. We don't want that we just want out of this lease and move out.
