| COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
|
My boyfriend and I moved into this apartment about a month ago. From the moment we moved in, this place has been infested with huge roaches. Not one or two every once in a while, which is to be expected in Florida; rather, multiple roaches on a daily basis. The landlord supposedly resolved the problem by sending out two exterminators, but the exterminators did nothing. They lazily sprayed around. No traps were provided as promised. Not to mention that they were in the apartment for less than two minutes each time. We are students and barely have enough to get by. We left our apt. tonight after 11pm to get MORE traps and roach spray. We have spent over $100, not to mention the time and effort put forth in exterminating ourselves - and, critically, our diminished quality of living. This rental company is simply inept and incompetent. As a further illustration, our dishwasher broke right after move in - and it STILL hasn't been fixed. We demand a significant reduction in rent, like at least one month for free, and immediate resolution of this issue. I am a law student taking 16 credits at UFlorida and don't have time/energy to be worried about these things. We are paying quite a hefty price monthly and getting NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER. When we call, they act disinterested and do nothing when it's an emergency. You're put on an endless waiting list. Nothing is ever accomplished. Overall, we are bitterly disappointed and demand at least one month free rent for the huge inconvenience and diminished quality of living.
