COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Lucia sold this house while we were renting it and was supposed to return both of our security deposits. I have email that she admits that she owes us the security deposit back. The house is in better shape now then when we rented it. We made improvements with our own money including painting the entire interior. When we rented the house we put down First (2480), Last (2480), Security (2480) Deposit and Pet (300) deposit. The house was transferred to new ownership at the end of May. Our original lease expired on April 1, 2011 and while the house was in transition we paid April rent and used the last month rent for May so she still had our security deposits at that point. We started paying rent to the new owner in June. I have the lease and some emails i can send as documentation for my backup. We are seeking to get our deposits back with interest.

Agent Nov 12, 2011 LANDLORD REFUSAL: Despite repeated attempts both written and verbal, the Landlord/ Manager has refused to respond to the complaint. Due to the landlords refusal to cooperate with RPA Mediation, the RPA has no choice but to close this case. The tenant will need to seek other legal options such as court.
