this is the check off list of everything wrong when i moved in. nothing has been fixed to date exept the thermostat. i requested he add bed bugs to the list of things wrong in this apartment on October 17th. He refused stating "cant do that either, we have already signed a contract" . this was asked of him after i begged to be release from my lease due to bed bugs and him lying that there were none in this building at initial contact with him when i looked at apartment with landlord mike stauter. complaints against this landlord have gone unhandled by any agency. stated housing authority in adams county denver colorado.

this lease is not correct. it is dated for only 2 weeks from the day i moved in to the end of september 2011. i dont even have a signed copy of my lease. this man has misrepresented this property for over a year and allowed persons to move in knowing the building is infested with bed bugs. im still getting bit by bed bugs. i need to leave hear.

Im not sure how many pictures you recieved as i had some trouble loading them. I can say i had them on my foot, both thighs, in between my pinky and wedding finger. Inside my arm by my armpit on both arms, above my right eye and on my forhead also on my chest. I plan on sending you a copy of the itemized list i made when i moved in as well. The form you use to mark things wrong with apartment. this place was filthy. he has never came by to fix any damages to the unit from prior tenants either. thank you

COMPLAINT : misrepresentation of rental property
Fair Resolution according to renter :
  1. agree to disolve rental lease agreement.
  2. refund retro rent amount rent being 605.00
  3. refund 300.00 in full
  4. pay costs for medicines used for bed bugs pain and suffering. and bed bug sprays
  5. pay dog grooming costs of 40.00 due to dog being bit as well

COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

The day I looked at the apartment with the landlord/owner we were in the courtyard. There were only two things I was con armed about. 1. Was cockroaches. (There not pleasant, but have been able to keep them clear on prior apartment in past). And 2. Was there bed bugs. He told me to my face that they had in fact had them in the past. I asked him when and he stated the beginning of summer. BUT NEVER IN THE BUILDING WHERE I WOULD BE RENDING. With that being said, and believing the man I agreed to move in and did so the following day. I singed a year lease and am paying 605.00 rent with 300.00 deposit. I noticed bug bite on foot first. I thought since I moved in a little at a time in evening. Then before I knew it I had them all over. When mike came to spray he found a bug and showed me. I couldn't belove it he lied to me. I begged him to please let me out of lease. He refused. I then asked him to put that the apartment has bed bugs on the inspection paperwork and he refused. Saying im not doing that. We've already signed contract. If this man would have been honest about bugs I would have never even considered mock.v. there. I have pictures of my body and face covered on. Ed bug bites

Renter Nov 18, 2011 24.8.83.42 this is my final statement. i am prepared to go to court with bite documentation as well as statements from tenants in this building stating they too had problems with bed bugs. tenen mary huston. i have her current address. david hill i have his current address. i asked lesley parker who works with HUD and she denied being able to help becuase she works with landslords as well. i am willing to supeona her if necessary. mike stauter misrpresented this apartment in order to have me sign lease that he now refuses to let me out of. this building is infested with bed bugs. please consider assisting in further action. raylene droel

Agent Nov 22, 2011 LANDLORD REFUSAL: Despite repeated attempts both written and verbal, the Landlord/ Manager has refused to respond to the complaint. Due to the landlords refusal to cooperate with RPA Mediation, the RPA has no choice but to close this case. The tenant will need to seek other legal options such as court.
