COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Landlord has not provided a "clean state" as stated on the lease. Complained to landlord concerning this infestation. He told me to change my sheets and vacuum, I told him I wanted an exterminator and he left finding one up to me. I found one and payed for one on my own cost. I had to throw out my bed and box spring, my roommates bed and box spring, and couch. This type of thing has been happening since we moved in. After viewing the apartment he told us it was going to be professional cleaned, he would paint and told us to make a "honey to do list." He said all would be taken care of before we moved in. The weekend they we moved in he was out of town. The place was not cleaned or ready for us to move in at all (nails left on floors, holes in walls and floors, old tenets things in the rooms, just plan unsanitary and filth) (I have pictures). I also had asked if it was a good idea to get an exterminator because I saw a bug, but he declined. We cleaned it, painted it, fixed the holes, installed smoke detectors, carbon-monoxide detectors, and took the trash and everything else that was left in the apartment out. This took over 3 weeks. He did reimburse us for the cost of the paint, smoke detectors and carbon-monoxide detectors, but only after I took it out of the rent.
