COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

My lease began April 1 2012, but all of my personal belongings, furniture stayed back in Michigan because I did not have time to move them due to my new job requirements. I planned to move all of my personal belongings at the beginning of June, but by the end of May I realized that the bites I was getting were actually bed bug bites. I took a photo of one bug and my bites, and sent them to the landlord. The landlord entered my apartment without my permission and knowledge (so I couldn't be there!) and then told me that they found no evidence of bed bugs. I am now getting bitten again. I cannot move my things here because I do not want them to get infested. I cannot move in, and I cannot move out. I am sleeping on the floor and living out of storage unit. What do I do? ... I asked the landlord's agent (Sandra Rose) if I could move to another apartment in the same complex that had no reports of bed bugs and she said "no."

Landlord Jun 25, 2012 50.76.7.249 Accept Tenant's Resolution.

Renter Jun 22, 2012 69.143.18.119 I accept the landlord's offer, quoted here: "(i) Ms. Abdalla would be required to pay all rent and additional rent that accrues through July 31, 2012, (ii) Ms. Abdalla would be required to pay a one-month termination fee totaling $1,075.00 upon move-out, and (iii) Ms. Abdalla would be required to forfeit her security deposit in the amount of $537.50." I will attach this information to my July rent check along with the termination fee.

Renter Jun 22, 2012 69.143.18.119 Accept Landlord's Resolution.

Landlord Jun 22, 2012 50.76.7.249 Explain why you can't accept / Offer Alternative Resolution.

Renter Jun 21, 2012 74.93.199.110 1. The lease affords me the ability to terminate early by providing 2 mo's notice and then paying an additional fee equalling two months rent. You are well aware that I am continuing to be bitten by bed bugs in this apartment, and that I have incurred financial loss including doctor's bill, discarding items that can't be rendered bed bug free, high laundry costs to keep my clothes bed bug free, and storage to keep my few personal effects bed bug free. I am willing to give 2 months notice and let you keep my security deposit despite all these losses.

Explanation: I will give you my two month's notice and pay the rent for those months (July and August) and not ask for the return of my security deposit, if you will agree not to come after me for an additional 2 months' rent.

Renter Jun 21, 2012 74.93.199.110 Offer an Alternative Resolution.

Landlord Jun 19, 2012 50.76.7.249 Explain why you can't accept / Offer Alternative Resolution.
