COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

I filed a claim about the same complaint a few months ago with suspected bed bugs. I dropped the claim several days later because the "experts" (Arrow Exterminators) came in a did not find any evidence of bed bugs in my apartment unit. Although they said that they did not find anything, they still did a general pest control spray. Well, that did not stop the rashes and irritation. Determined they were wrong and that the apartment was infested with bed bugs, I was set on finding them myself. For the next couple of weeks, I caught as many bugs as I could find. I then placed another service request that I had evidence of bed bugs. They said that my apartment was already cleared of bed bugs and that I was to bring the bag to the leasing office. I then received a phone call stating that "they looked like bed bugs", but will have the pest control company re-inspect my apartment. I then got a call from the office one last time stating that they did find bugs, but they were not bed bugs. When I asked did the type of bug they found cause the bites that I was experiencing, she replied, "Well, all bugs can bite,” which was true, so I did not argue. She said that they would come out again and spray the apartment, which they did few days later. Believing that this was the end of sleepless nights, the problem resurfaced a couple of nights later. I had to round the bugs up again. This time, after doing some research online, I sent the sample bugs to Rosmarie Kelly, PhD, MPH, Public Health Entomologist. She immediately called me back two days later confirming bed bugs and she even sent me a letter through email stating that these were bed bugs from the apartment and the stages they were in. I then again not only turned in another service request (3rd time), I also emailed the property manager Ben Thurman. I also stated that Dr. Kelly has identified them as bed bugs. They left message stating that they have now contracted with another company and they came in and finally identified bed bugs. I am to schedule a treatment time and here is the kicker, for me to discuss payment for treatment because I am responsible! They failed to contract a credible bed bug exterminator company, allowed them to treat my apartment inappropriately twice, and finally sought out a reputable company ONLY after I had an expert identify them as bed bugs. I just moved into the apartment mid January, experiencing a rash little time after that and did have bed bugs at my last place of residence!
