COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
The landlord was notified by another tenant about a month prior to my noticing bed bugs in my apartment that they existed. He did nothing. After I starting getting a few bites I called on 8/13/12 and demanded he do something. He brought in an exterminator on 8/17/12 who told all tenants what to do to upon extermination. I found out from the landlord that another tenant had bought a used mattresses, which is how they first got into the building. They exterminated on 8/18/12 and I informed the landlord that day that if the problem was not resolved that I wanted out of my lease. That was on 8/18/12 and about 10-11 days later I starting get bite again. I called on 9/4/12 to report the problem and express my concerns and request getting out of the lease, but he wanted to see what the exterminator had to say. He called back and implied that this was my fault. The exterminator came by, but he also implied it was my fault. Laid some glue pads. I spoke with another tenant who said the tenant above me still had an infested couch. I called the landlord back and left multiple messages over a couple days and he called back once while I was working, but I was unable to talk. I don't want to continue going round and round with this and just want to pack up and leave.
