My name is Cory and I live in the linden apartments in shawnee oklahoma. I live in a three story complex on the second story. I have two kids, one baby and one toddler.The couple living below my apartment have formed an alliance within all of my surrounding neighbors to have my family and i evicted because my kids are too loud during the day. My kids do not yet know how to walk on their toes quietly, and the youngest one is just now starting to walk, and tends to fall quite often. Sometimes when i'm watching and taking care of one child the other child is trying to trot around or play as children often do.
Today around 1:00 pm, my neighbor that lives below me came up to my door and told me to quite letting my kids make noise. My toddler was trotting around from the kitchen to the living room happy that we were about to have lunch. My neighbor has convinced our landlord into issuing eviction notices over this.
My landlord has issued numerous warnings and even placed me on probation, that i have five months left in completing. I've had numerous conversations with my landlord. When i talk to her face to face she sympathizes with me and tells me not to worry about the neighbor below. My neighbor that lives below me has a history of getting people she doesnt like evicted. Yet despite what my landlord says she still is the one bringing me letters of possible eviction. Needless to say, my landlord is possibly being pressured into threatening eviction from my neighbors.
This scares me because if i get evicted my family and i will have no place to go. I do not like being constantly threatened by me neighbor that lives below me, whom has the landlord backing her up. I feel sorry for my kids who are constantly being told to act like a statue. They are just babies still and do not even understand why they must always be light as a feather and quiet as a mouse 24/7. I would like the linden apartments to modify their policies and allow me to live in peace without constant fear of eviction, or release me from my contract with my deposit.
