COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

I rented the above apartment from August 1,2008 to October 31,2012 when my family moved to phoenix. When I rented I paid management fees (which none refundable) and security deposit which is refundable. When I moved out I expected to get back my whole deposit. However as every one know "Superstorm Sandy" hit New York causing a lot of damage and delays. There was no power in the apartment for the week of 28th October, 2012. The elevators were not working. I managed to move most of my things down the stairs. A few things remained which my wife spoke to the building super who agreed to take what he wanted and subsequently clear the apartment. The manager came the apartment before the process was completed and now is witholding my rent deposit. I have diligently paid my rent without delay. I gave them 2 months notice before I moved.I could not predict "Superstorm Sandy" 2 months in advance. I have tried to call the office to sort this issue but they refuse to pick my call. They assume that since I am in phoenix they can ran away with my money. This the United States of America; there is justice for all, hence my complaint. My prayer is they renfund my full deposit of $1400.
