COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

We were under a Realtor contract up to 12/11/12, then turned down for financing since my husband was recently self employed and would need more time to qualify.. Therefore, we had the Realtor re-write a lease Purchase agreement due to the downfall of the housing market here in our area (MANY, MANY homes are foreclosing since they can NOT sell them). We were then asked to meet with seller's nephew who was handling her affairs to discuss the agreement. The nephew stated he did NOT want to deal with the Realtor's, and asked that we retrieve our earnesnt money from realtor and give it to them as a deposit. He also had a rental agreement/lease generated and said to sign it and get it notarized then send it back to him and he will try to convince his aunt to allow us to remain in the home while trying to get financing and to go to a closing by March, he then VERBALLY said we would be considered like a month to month basis (this was at the end of December)until she approved and he would send us a copy of the signed agreement. We signed the lease agreement and got it notarized (which did NOT have the seller's signature on it) on 1/2/13. We never received any notifications, messages, copy of the signed lease or anything until February when another nephew sent us an email stating he was handling everything and the seller wants to SELL outright. We generated a letter explaining we loved the house, put an alarm system in it, and also explained that if we leave the home, it is NOT guaranteed that they will be able to sell it for quite some time and even offered several options for them to review and get back with us and also asked that they contact Realtors in the area to find out about the selling economy. We were then notifed about 10 days later that they will NOT be able to work with us that it needs to be SOLD outright. Therefore, we sent them a note with the rental payment for March on 2/26/13 stating that we would be moving out since they were not able to work with us and gave them the address where they can forward our deposit. I sent an email in the beginning of April to find out where our deposit is and now we are being told that we broke the lease and we do not get our deposit back plus they want rent to cover the upcoming months until the lease would have expired in September. I explained that we NEVER received a copy of the signed executed lease agreement. They have NOW produced a copy with signature of owner dated on a date that is NOT possible!!!
