Moved into APT in June of 2013 Within 1 month I went to the front office because I was concerned about how loud my little kids are in the apartment (running around and being kids) I said, that the neighbors below me seem to be very angry and I talked about how I wanted them to let me move so that I could get a place better suited for my family and that wouldn't disturb my neighbors: I went and talked to the neighbors and explained the situation and that I tried to get out of the lease. My neighbors then told me that they had complained to the apartments already and the landlords option to them was to A. ) Switch apartments with us..(Neither of us wanted that) or B.) They would let them out of there lease I went back and asked why they just wouldn't let us out and they said that I would have to pay thousands of dollars to do so..(Then the two girls mentioned how I shouldn't worry about it anyways because the neighbors are mean anyways.) 5 months go by and I get a noise ordinance complaint on my door as well as a warning NOT to put potato peels in my garbage disposal??? That's the first time they threatened to evict me. I called the office, I said..why am I getting this warning when I HAVE COME TO YOU 3 TIMES ABOUT THIS. They told me that they had to do it and not to worry and as long as my kids are quite between 10pm and 10 am I would be fine. Called twice after that trying to get out of lease. We even asked if the property company owned townhomes. THEY DO BUT WOULDNT LET US OUT TO TRANSFER LEASES.. Again, the people are mean don't worry about it they said. My lease is up July 31st, my wife and I bought a house and submitted our 60 day notice which the office received. Today, I get a 3 day notice to cure on my door sighting that AGAIN I have been complained on about my KIDS an that I cant dump chicken noodle sup down my garbage disposal??? And if I cant fix it they WILL evict me and my family and that they have the right to do so anytime in the next 6 months if they choose to do so. This is wrong. 1.) Im the one that went to them BEFORE they even knew it was an issue. 2.) I have tried 7 time to switch places within the same company and they told me no. 3.) Ive already turned in my 60 day notice 4.) I have NEVER been late on rent I feel strongly that this is harassment and feel that I now need help. MY lease is up the 31st of July and I have movers showing up the 3rd of July to move me. Please help.
