COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

I notified the landlord on May 13th,2013 that my stay in Hawaii was only 2 weeks instead of originally planned until September 01st,2013. On 05/15/2013 I wrote a check to him for $917. On 05/20/2013 I text messages him to move out the apartment on 05/24/2013 to go back to the main land. Daniel Dudden instructed me to leave the keys inside the room and lock the private room door (201 B) and he will take care everything. According to the Handbook for the Hawaii Residential Landlord-Tenant Code, Section 44c and Section 44f-A, it pasts 14 days ( 21 days today to be exact) I still did not hear or received any document from the landlord, he must be obligated to my specific requests above. There was another tenant (Dawn_)who lives in the same apartment across from where my private room used to be and saw my departure. I contacted by phone three times but could only talked to Dan once to request the Security Deposit Refund. He did not take any action over all including returning my phone call and I would like to file a complain against him to seek for remedy.

Renter Jun 18, 2013 71.160.200.94 1.I was advice by the Hawaiian legal aid service (referred by court) to send a demand letter to Dan Dudden about the security deposit; but I personally feel he is a sex predator (he came to my private room very late in the evening and hugged me twice? when he left on 05/15/2013, the same day when he came to collect rent) and since I left the apartment building, I tried to work with Dan in a nice manner to collect my refunded security deposit but he turned out to change his tone and did not return my phone calls or did not answer his phone, I personally did not want to contact him any more and file a complain with the RPA with the hope to bring my file to the court in the future if I need to.
On 05/13/2013 there was the presence of a witnessing housekeeper when I came to let Dan know I would only stayed there for 2 weeks. I came from the main land to Hawaii only to work for a temporary job that I did not know yet and the unknown place where I stayed. I am honest, frank, and straight forward toward Dan. After all he is only the owner of the apartment building where I need a temporary place to stay but his property turned out to be molded in the bathroom that to be shared with 5 people and the small crowded refrigerator.

Renter Jun 17, 2013 71.160.200.94 I would like to rebut the landlord response. 1.He did not response to the fact that I verbally told him I will only stay 2 weeks from the original plan to stay until 09/01/2013 (due to his apartment condition but I did not tell him) on 05/13/2013. 2.He came to my private room very late in the evening when it close to 10:00pm and I had work the next morning to collect rent and had me signed the contract when I did not get a chance to read or understand it. 3.I text message him on 05/20/2013 to announce my leaving on 05/24/2013. On this date I told him to refund the full security deposit, he responded by saying maybe after he physically see the apartment without mentioning about the signed contract. 4. I called him after leaving the apartment on 06/05/2013 to question about security deposit and remind him about his disclosure about Hawaiian law tripple the deposit refund if it pasts 14 days. He said he was working on the refund and again did not explain anything about the contract to me. 5. The room was a furnished room and I just ask for shading for the curtain on the window. He came to my room without permission and left only a haft of the shading during the day on 05/13/2013, the same day's evening I told him I will stay only 2 weeks and return the shading. 6. I never not dealing in a good faith to Daniel Dudden. I was honest and told him what my plan was but he wanted to "know me better?", never (again) explained to me about the contract, promised something for a refund but he did not do.
