Adjacent tenant Apt.614 complains of loud TV, Bangs on the wall and my door, calls the doormen and they come up to my apt. and bang on my door. The doormen have also called my phone many times. This has been going on since August. On nights of 10/14 & 10/15 the super turned off my electricity. I called the police on the 15th and went downstairs to meet them. The police did basically nothing? Though they did speak to the super privately. I don't know what they said. The super told me that it must be a power failure in my apt. and he would come up and check. I declined. The police went away. I went back up to my apt. and miraculously the electricity was back on. As to the noise. I do not have, nor have I ever had a stereo or sound system of any kind. No receiver, No 'Home theater', No 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 etc. speakers! I have A small TV with teeny, tiny, tinny 2" speakers. My TV is by the wall next to my door - at least 10' from the adjacent wall to apt. 614. I have been in this apt. 18 yrs & 5 mos. The woman above in apt. 712 above me lived there the first 18 years. No complaints. The many tenants in apt. 614 prior to August did not complain. Nor did the tenants in apt. 512 below me complain. I am 70 years old and more than upset, unnerved. This certainly can't be good for my health. I have done nothing in response except to but a very cheap 'Hearing aid' - it's junk. I can't afford a real hearing aid. So I have ordered wireless headphones to work off the headphone jack in the TV. ETA one week. But It probably won't matter because the instant I turn the TV on - before I get the "aid" on my ears - I get banging on the wall.
