I have had bed bugs since the end of May. I came to The Apartment Shop near the beginning of June about the issue. I showed them all the bites on my arms and legs (I had around 40 bites at that time, which later increased to close to 80). Instead of calling an exterminator right away, they sent an unqualified staff member to search my apartment for bugs. He didn't find anything, so he just wrote it off as dust mites. I caught 2 bed bugs and brought them to the office. Finally they said they'd call an exterminator. 2 days went by and I didn't hear anything, so I began calling them. I have called them every day for the past 10 days- desperately asking if anyone had any information as to when the exterminator was coming. Yesterday, a staff member told me someone would be at my place by today. I thought it was a bit odd since I still haven't received the "preparation sheet." It is now noon, and I still haven't heard anything. I have given up sleeping in my apartment for my own sanity. These bugs are going to get hungry and search for food- which means they are definitely going to spread to other units. I need this issue taken care of RIGHT NOW. I am moving August 1st and I know the pesticide treatment takes 6 weeks. I am not going to risk bringing these bugs to my new home. I refuse to move out of this apartment until the entire treatment is completed. This is completely ridiculous and unprofessional.
