I, on my parent's behalf, reported to the leasing office about a temporary skin irritation and was asking for their assistance. The person who answered the phone told me they would put us on pest control list that week. So when the pest control technician arrived, we just mentioned of this allergy. Now, we are of the understanding that pest control also helps with giving out recommendations and suggestions as advertised in Orkin's official website. But unfortunately, the person was in a rush and he told us to contact the management since they don't take care of bugs. By bugs, our understanding from limited English proficient person's prospective, was that is that they are a special breed of insects and not bed bugs. Now, when we contacted the management, the manager was all intimidated and said that she was going to order a bed bug inspecton. Upon inquiry, she said since we were the ones who reported 'bed bugs' and we had to pay for the inspection (86.55$) and all costs following the treatment after. She never took interest in clarifying the situation and was impatient. She also ordered to bring a bed bug in a zip-lock bag to the leasing office. It should be noted that no report was even made in writing and all communication was carried out orally. Also, despite ordering for pest control around every week and having a roach free guarantee during our tour, we see roaches and pests daily in our apartment. On Monday this week, no bed bug was found upon inspection by Envirotrol pest company. It seems the management is not interested in the welfare of the residents and bears grudges against any 'problem tenants' who complain or order service requests frequently and doesn't hesitate to retaliate against them for being a 'headache.' The apartment manager's we had issue was Melissa Honea. The assistant manager was Kathryn Graut. I had a case filed with BBB, but didn't get a follow up response. More over, pest control solutions had been ineffective. We see roaches the same day of pest control treatment.
