I rented the apartment in July of 2016 for 800.00 (with utilities included) from Landlord Arlene Lombardi. Greenwich Bay Residential took over almost immediately. Over the last 18 months they have raised the rent twice and taken away the included utilities. There has never been a written lease agreement, so I paid the increases, always on time. (The rental office also regularly contacted me saying there were late fees, but thankfully my dad keeps extremely good records.) The apartment is in disrepair and nobody addresses the problems despite my calls. I often have to shower at my parents house because the shower does not work. I often have to eat out because the sink in the kitchen does not drain. The community washer/dryers are rarely in working condition. I finally found a better place that I can move to on March 15th. I sent a letter, with 30 days notice, telling the Landlord this. I received multiple angry harassing phone calls, where different people were yelling at me and making me feel extremely threatened. I was told the lease says I cant leave (as if I was a prisoner)...but I have no lease. I just want to move out and get my deposit back, I have paid way more than I ever initially agreed to.
