I moved into the apartment in January. I have documents from another tenant proving that the landlord knew about a roach problem in another apartment in the same building before I moved in (December). He threatened to evict me when I tried to withhold rent. He did not fix the problem after 3 months of discourse. Now that I\'ve moved out I\'m trying to get my $1895 deposit back but he will not return calls, and he has not shown up to the office where I previously dropped off the rent checks. I personally was willing to move on with just the deposit but I honestly feel like he should refund all the rent. Since even in my new apartment I have anxiety about bugs and \"see them\" even when they aren\'t there. I also saw him showing apartments to new people the day after I left, which should be illegal.
