We were shocked when our landlord said he was going to keep our $600 deposit. We cleaned and cleaned until the apartment looked brand new. We even had my parents help me shampoo the carpets. Working as a waitress to provide for my family wasn't easy but my landlord made things worse by evicting me for paying my rent a day late. According to the Landlord he said I needed to be out within 3 days. I tried to work it out with the management office but they said they couldn't do anything. Just wanted to say this is the first time I've used Rental Protection Agency and it has been a wonderful experience. I was having a terrible time with my landlord and a friend sent me RPA's website. I called for information about the agency and Agent Paxton returned my call within 24 hours. He called within a matter of days, and told me my complaint had been resolved. He was very helpful and professional and I will tell anyone who has problems with their landlords to definitely file a complaint with the Rental Protection Agency. Case Details: Water was leaking from my tub into the electrical system of the rental below... I had asked management to fix the leak several times, yet they never corrected the problem. I had no choice but to break my lease agreement and by doing so was getting charged a $1500 lease termination fee. After filing a landlord complaint the Fee was waived completely.

Even though my landlord issue was a minor problem, I was sick of begging my Landlord to fix it. (my bathroom faucet kept comming loose) I was worried that by filing a Landlord Complaint my Landlord would get upset. But out of frustration, I did it anyway. After the my complaint things have been good, real good. If I remember right the landlord had installed a completely new faucet within less than 24 hours after the Investigating contacted him.
