COMPLAINT : Breach of implied warranty of habitability
Fair Resolution according to renter :
  1. $1500 replacement of 1 queen and 1 full size matress ruined by bed bugs
  2. $500 loss of personal items ruined by bed bugs
  3. $500 cost of professional mover to move belonging that had to remain at old address after we moved.
  4. $200 cost of laundering all clothing and bedding we own.
  5. refund total amount of deposit $850.00, with certified statment from exterminator stating beloning are fee of bed bugs

COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

My house was infected by bed bugs that originated in an adjacent apartment. This was confirmed by maintenance manager and an exterminator. My landlord has offered no guarantee that my belongings once removed will be free of bed bugs. The landlord has offered a $200 dollar fee to cover only the cost of washing my clothing at a laundry facility. This is an ongoing problem in the building that I was unaware of. In the four plus year Iā??ve lived in Rustic Village we have had intermittent requests from management to search our apartments for bug infestations that were conducted with out warning of potential hazards or education of current infestations.
