COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Bed bugs found after 10 days of renting. I had a professional come the next day to confirm and spray. He found a few bed bugs, which I have saved. He inspected apartment 2105 and found evidence that the apartment has all ready been treated with Diatomaceous Earth. He suspects that the bed bugs are coming from the apartment next to me and that spraying will only help for a short period of time and that I should get my things out of there. I spoke with the landlord, Kim Collins, to see if I could get out of lease before my belongings became infested. This apartment is not hospitable to live in. She refuses to let me out of the lease and wants me to pay 2 months of rent to be let out of lease. Kim hired a seprate inspector who confirmed that the bugs which I saved are bed bugs. He inspected my apartment, apartment 2105, and believes the bugs came from the apartment next to me. He beleives that my belongings, for the time being, have not been infested but advised me that once they spray the surrounding apartments they'll probably come back. Through my research I understand that having your belongings infested by bed bugs can take several years to treat. I would like to get out before my stuff is infested. I'm living out of boxes because I'm too affraid to move my stuff in. I can't afford to pay out two months rent to break the lease. I feel that my landlord is holding me and my things hostage.
