COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

I lived at the apartment for a few months when I started noticing bed bugs. As I searched around the house the severity of the problem became apparent and I called the management office to tell them about it and ask them to resolve the problem. In response to the bed bug problem, they sent a vacuum cleaner sales lady and tried to convince me that I could rid the bed bug problem with water and vacuum cleaners. I insisted that her proposed solution was not the appropriate one. After 20 minutes of demonstrating the vacuum cleaner, she finally agreed to send an exeterminator. The exterminator showed up and told me this was the 3rd time he has to come to our apartment complex for bed bugs. The first two times were in the unit next to me and the unit below me. 5 Days after the extermination, there was still bed bugs. I called the management office and asked if I could call the landlord directly. After they gave me his number, I gave him a call and explained the situation and he promptly gave me permission to terminate my lease with 30 days notice. He also verbally agreed to returning my security deposit in full. I was also promised by the landlords partner and brother that my deposit would be returned in full as soon as possible. I left that apartment in December of 2011 and have been e-mailing them ever since asking for my deposit back and the refuse to respond.
