COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Approximately on or about mid-September I noticed a strange rash and or bite on multiple locations on my body. After doing some research I determined that they were from bedbugs. I conducted some surveillance on my apartment and witnessed bedbugs coming out of an electrical outlet on one of my bedroom walls. I captured one of the bugs and had it confirmed that it was indeed a bedbug. I personally treated my entire apartment and bed twice. Approximately 10 days after treatment I witnessed multiple bedbugs either near the same elliptical outlet or on the wall that the electrical outlet is on. I went to the apartment complex manager with this information and it was deemed that a professional exterminator would need to come in to get rid of the bugs. After the process was started I was informed that if it is determined that the bedbugs were brought in by my doing, that I would have to pay for the extermination. However, if it was determined that they came in to my apartment through some other means, that the complex would have to pay for the bill. During the inspection the exterminator agreed with me that the bugs were indeed entering my apartment through my wall. After the treatment I was informed that I was going to have to pay. I do not believe that this is the right choice to be made being that it was not proven that I brought the bugs in.
