COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

On Monday 4/22/13 I saw a single bed bug in the common area - in the hallway while reaching for the mail. Last night, Wednesday 4/24/13 while sitting and studying on the bed at 3 am I saw pretty large bug sitting on my pillow. He didnt move and it was pretty easy to kill it. The blood sprayed when I smashed it. I put it into the ziplock. I checked my bedding, around the bed and everywhere I could in my bedroom for any black , brown and red spots. I never had any problems in the apartment but the building itself its pretty dirty with rats running in the basement and just outside of the front door, garbage flying in the front etc. The management gets many tickets from the sanitary inspection. Regardless, I check my apartment for roaches and bed bugs pretty often since I live in NYC. I m clean and change my sheets every week so I would see anything in the past. I was checking the apartment until 6 am that night. The very next morning I called the management if they can send me the exterminator or someone to confirm the problem. I also emailed my property manager. I didnt hear from anyone for the entire day. I went to the pest control store to confirm that the bug I killed was a bed bug, They did. I bought all the necessary sprays, mattress cover, alcohol and powder. Stayed home and washed everything, dried, steamed, vacuumed, sprayed you name it. Still no word from the management. I would like the landlord to hire professionals to inspect and treat my apartment. Thank you.
