I called Monday 7/29/13 and asked about seeing this property, they said to fill out an application. Applied, waited a day to see if the company would call me. They didn't so I called back & was told that I needed income verification. I faxed that over to them on Tues. 7/30/13 and waited another half day for them to call. No call. I called back; they found my papers and said I was approved. Should NOT have to keep calling to check on status of application... Saw the house on Wed. 7/31/13, decided it would be okay, went ahead and put down deposit. Saw another for rent by same company, went and looked at it Thurs. 8/1/13, wasn't sure about that one. Asked them on the same day if we could get deposit back, as no lease had been signed. Said it was non-refundable.Called them back later on and decided to stay with current house; also asked what the next step was; I was told that I had to sign the lease. Went to sign lease on Mon. 8/5/13; was told I should have called first because they needed time to prepare all documents. Left, but called an hour later and no one answered the phone & even after 10 rings no voicemail to leave a message. Called an hour after that to set up an appointment & desk clerk said I needed to have utilities turned on first. At no time during the showings of the house or any phone calls was I told that utils. needed to be turned on before signing a lease & I'm not sure how I can do that when I technically have no right to the property as I have no lease & no key. I feel that since the beginning I have been getting the runaround from this company and am no longer interested in working with them.
