I reported that I had discovered bed bugs in my apt. and needed an exterminator to get rid of them . She advised me that that was my responsibility and gave me the phone # of an extetminator that she knew. After leaving messages on his voice mail and him fially responding to us he couldn't come until 4 days later. We decided that we couldn't just sit and do nothing, so we went online and found out what to do besides calling an exterminator . It involved buying and putting on all mattresses and box springs a powder called D E Dust, washing all clothes we needed to keep and throwing away the rest, buying mattress, box spring, and pillow covers to use ad soon as the house was exterminated, rent a rug Dr. and use on the beds, livingroom furniture, and carpets. Wash the walls down with bleach. It was very costly to do all that. Then the exterminator charged $125 /room to spray. We could only afford to do 3 rooms. After all spraying was done we wete to put the covers on all tge beds, vacuum all rooms, and throw away the vacuum and cleaning supplies we used to insure none were trapped inside and could get out to start infesting our apt. again. They can live for 1 year without feeding on human blood. Also my daughter had to stay off work for 1 week as not to spread them to her co-workers until we got them under control. She has bad reactions to bug bites of any kind and now has scars all over. After giving me the exterminators phone# they have no even mentioned the incident to us or adked how it was going with our problem.
